Are you a young person (age 12-24) interested in sustainable fashion? Phipps Youth Climate Advocacy Committee (YCAC) is holding workshops for creative young people come together to work on sustainable fashion projects! Our YCAC sewing and sustainable fashion aficionado Lucy Dabat will discuss the importance of sustainable fashion and will teach sewing basics, tips and tricks. This is a casual space to brainstorm with other young designers, learn new skills, get help on your sustainable fashion projects, and eat light snacks. Beginner designers are welcome!
Whether you are planning to register for our Youth Sustainable Fashion Show or not, this workshop is for you! Feel free to bring a started project or begin planning your garment that day. Please bring your own fabric and materials with you to use to create your piece. We will have a limited number of sewing machines, thread, sewing needles, hot glue, fabric scraps and other materials available for everyone to use. Feel free to bring your own too!
