Landscape Design I: Overview and Design Preparation

Objective: To be able to complete a site inventory and analysis and create a conceptual diagram for a preselected site
Level: Beginner
Prerequisite: Landscape Graphics. Please note: completion of Landscape Graphics is required before enrolling in Landscape Design I.

Explore practical aspects of the landscape design process, including site documentation, client interviews and program development. Develop a site inventory and analysis and a conceptual diagram. Please bring the following tools to the first class: engineer’s scale, architect’s scale, straightedge triangles (45° and 30°-60°-90°), mechanical pencils (one soft lead, one hard lead), chisel point black marker, extra fine point black Sharpie® marker, small roll tracing paper (bum wad) and engineer’s paper.
